As much a woman of influence as a devoted companion, Jacqueline Bouvier, who became Jackie Kennedy then Jackie O following her marriage with Aristotle Onassis still generates passionate discussion more than 20 years after her death.
In Nice, for the first time, Frédéric Lecomte Dieu will show more than 100 photographs collected in particular from the archives of the JFK museum in Boston, each captioned with rare anecdotes. In Paris, Philippe Labro, a great connoisseur on the subject, praised his editorial work.
From her birth to her last steps in Central Park, on the arm of her final companion, the magnificent photos of the exhibition will be accompanied by the reproduction of her wedding dress, her correspondence with André Malraux, the rocking chair of President John F. Kennedy, letters from JFK, Robert F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Eisenhower, Martin Luther King, magazines from the archives … The firm of Gérard Darel, famous for having reproduced the black pearl collar worn by Jackie Kennedy on the occasion of her meeting in Paris with General de Gaulle in 1961, is actively sponsoring the exhibition.
Over and above the portrait of a woman, « Elle s’appelait Jackie » (She was called Jackie) will provide a truly close encounter with the greatest American dynasty.
